The Christian church has responded to the Coronavirus pandemic in various ways. Rev. Tony Spell suggested that true Christinas don’t mind dying while Kenneth Copeland has claimed to have destroyed the Coronavirus through prayer and the utilization of the “Breathe of God.” Some Church leaders see COVID-19 as a weapon used by Satan in spiritual warfare against the Church, others say it’s the wrath of God released on a wickedly sinful people. These reasons have resulted in Church buildings being filled along with hospitals across the country. What is the correct spiritual response during this time when Spiritual support and hope is needed but going to Church could end up being fatal?

What we know about God can be attributed to what we have been told about God, but what can we say we know beyond the theology given to us by others? Knowing God is not like knowing a person or any other material object. When coming to know God a different understanding, perspective and expectation must also come into play. Truly knowing God goes beyond what we claim to know. If we don’t attach a mysteriousness to our knowing we remain in the dark.

It is said that God operates in seasons. We are told that we are blessed in seasons and receive our healing, financial, and spiritual provisions during these seasons of blessings. I would like to challenge that philosophy and consider seasons of blessings in a much broader way.
We know how to come to God when we’re in need. We know Him as a need fulfiller, a sustainer of life, good health and a source of provisions. Yet that is as far as the recognition goes for some of us. We stop there and never go deeper to know God as a truly omnipotent God that sustains supernatural life and health, provisions and blessings.

It doesn’t matter if you’re an underachiever or successful and at the top of your game, comfort zones can become alluring to anyone. Through the spirits of fear, pride, complacency, and denial comfort zones are conceived, nurtured and mature. Overcoming comfort zones will lead to experiencing a life that is abundant with the spiritual and material blessings of God; He has called you to be all that He has created you to be. It’s time to break free from your comfort zones and take advantage of every opportunity.
