What we know about God can be attributed to what we have been told about God, but what can we say we know beyond the theology given to us by others? Knowing God is not like knowing a person or any other material object. When coming to know God a different understanding, perspective and expectation must also come into play. One thing that is common amongst the human experience is that we all hate suffering. We tend to view it strictly as a form of punishment and condemnation. Anyone that we see in a condition of suffering we instantly feel compelled to do something about it. We have a desire to help free them from the grip of suffering in any way we can. But there is relevance in suffering and we should be open to the experience instead of living a life trying to avoid it.
